A week and a half back from Malaysia and things are finally starting to feel normal again. Had a pretty low key weekend, which included my first cricket match. The cricket is not usually in Darwin, but they have kind of a spring training up here since it's still winter other places. Damn, if you think baseball is boring, wait til you see the cricket. Worst of all, they were only selling "light beer." Not sure if I have explained Australian light beer before, but it means light in alcohol, like 3%. What's the point?? They have light, mid (maybe 4%), and regular beer here. Stupidest shit ever. I dont want to bother drinking beer and all it's calories if I am not going to feel buzzed! Needless to say, we didnt stay at the cricket too long, but it was good to see.
Chinese is also back on. Same peeps in the class except all the younger peeps dropped. So it's like me and the retirees, including the annoying ones that are always coming in with their Chinese tea and shit. Bitch, it's not show and tell up in here! I have to admit, I didnt study much during the break. I feel like I have never seen those characters before. The talking is coming back to me, but learning the characters is so hard. I am still trying to remember the numbers, sigh.
Visa drama continues! Looks like I will end up having to quit my job for one month. I guess that is not so bad. Like I said before, I am really trying to do everything possible to keep this job. It is so chill, but also enjoyable -- I like the people and the work. I am supposed to go back out bush last week of August, this time for 4 days. Different court this time, and apparently this place is nicer than the place I went last time. "Nicer," not to be confused with "nice."
Diet is back on as well. I lost all the weight I gained on vacation, so still working on trying to lose a little more. I have been running, but I think it's better to run in the mornings than in the afternoons. Unfortunately, I start work at 8, so that means 6am leave for the gym. BLAH.
